Hi Anna,

Today was a fantastic day. I got to carry the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games Torch through Stayner.
Our group of 10 runners met at Stayner Collegiate, got our instructions, group pictures and then into the van for our drop off spots. I was Torchbearer # 26 and the first one to run in Stayner. As we pulled up to my spot, I saw my clogging group, neighbours and friends waiting for me. Wow! They were there for me. Now excitement is really starting to build. Ok it's time to go. As Otto is lighting my torch he is congratulating me and this was after several of the police escorts have congratulated me as well. This is mindboggling. And we're off. Walking, waving, seeing friends and strangers was so terrific and before I know it - it's over. I was so afraid before the run that I wouldn't be able to go 240 metres but in fact is was over in the blink of an eye. This is a day I'll remember forever. I am very proud to be a Canadian.
I thank my friend, Alison, who ran in the 2010 Olympic Run (in December in minus 30 degrees). She gave me the inspiration to apply for this run.
